Ingredients
¾ cup warm milk
1 package of active yeast
2 tablespoons of honey
3 large eggs at room temperature
3 ½- 4 cups of Niobrara Grain & Milling Organic Bread Flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups of cheddar or a cheese of your taste (1 cups shredded, 1 cup cubed)
1 cup of mozzarella ( ½ shredded, ½ cubed)
¼ cup grated parmesan
⅓ cup fresh chopped herbs (basil, oregano, and or thyme)
2 cloves of fresh garlic, minced
Directions
- Combine warm milk, honey and yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes until bubbles form.
- Add eggs, 3 cups of flour and salt to the milk mixture. Mix until combined.
- Using a dough hook, mix in the flour mixture until combined. Dough should be smooth and pulling away from the bowl. Add flour ¼-½ cup at a time as needed.
- Cover the bowl and let sit for 1 hour or until doubled in size in a warm place.
- In a bowl combine the cheeses, chopped herbs and garlic.
- Punch dough down and roll out on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle.
- Sprinkle the cheese mixture over the dough evenly.
- Roll the dough into a log, keeping it tight. When you reach the edge, seal the edge.
- Use a sharp knife to cut the log in half lengthwise, leaving a small portion of the end intact. Cross the dough ropes over each other, twisting the length of the dough.
- Coil the dough into a circle. Transfer the dough to a parchment lined baking sheet. Let sit for 15 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350℉. Bake bread for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Slice and serve warm.
